Japanese Friendship Garden – Shawn & My

I photographed a great wedding at the Japanese Friendship Garden in San Jose, CA. Shawn and My’s wedding ceremony was held at Japanese Friendship Garden in the late afternoon. The sun was blistering but the breeze was cool enough to keep things comfortable. Take a look at some of my shots and let me know what you think.

The bridal prep shots happened at the Sheraton Hotel in Milpitas, CA and the Chinese banquet reception was held at ABC Seafood also in Milpitas, CA. Coincidentally, I also shoot a lot of weddings at the ABC Seafood in Foster City, CA.

Below are some of my faves of the day. Below that are thumbnails of the entire wedding! Keep in mind that these images are straight from Lightroom. Absolutely no Photoshop and/or retouching was performed on these images. What you see below constitutes Level 1 editing/processing. Also keep in mind that I take A LOT of pictures! On this wedding I took over one thousand and my associate photographer also got a few hundred. So what you are seeing is only a fraction of what I took and gave to the client.

Wente Vineyards – Shawn & Kari

Shawn and Kari had their wedding reception at the iconic Wente Vineyards in Livermore, CA. I have shot many weddings here over the years. In fact, my marquee image entitled THE GHOST BRIDE was shot here.

At any rate, here is a gallery of wedding images from this wonderful wedding venue. Please enjoy.

The Spinnaker Restaurant Sausalito | Marisa & Joe

The Spinnaker Restaurant in Sausalito, CA is a great place to have your wedding. Everything you can ask for is there including dreamlike backdrops, scenery and water. Lighting can be a challenge depending on the time of day, so you really want to hire a photographer that knows the ropes and one that can deal with harsh, bright lighting coming in through the towering bay windows. There is, however a perfect time to take pictures and when that time comes, you have to be willing to drop whatever you are doing and go take the pictures.

Below are some of my favorite wedding photos of Marisa and Joe, one of my most favorite couples of 2009. I took over one thousand wedding pictures for the lovely couple.  What you see below is straight from Lightroom, Level 1 editing/processing. No Photoshop or retouching was done to any of these. I get amazing quality shooting in RAW and personally editing and processing your images. Bypassing Photoshop saves the bride a TON of cash. Besides, you can always choose your favorite 100 or so to be retouched/further refined at a later date for much less it would cost me to open each one in Photoshop as part of the package.

The bride got ready at a bread and breakfast in Sausalito, CA. For the privacy of all involved, it was recommended that I not divulge this location.

Following the bridal prep, we headed over to the Spinnaker Restaurant for both the ceremony and reception. Of course, the guys had their moment in the spotlight. The groom’s pictures turned out absolutely wonderful.

After the ceremony we took some photos at the Fountain that is in the center of Broadway Sausalito. Those are just some of my favorites. Click on the image below to see many more images from this wedding.
